The Tomball ISD School Board approved the 2022-2023 and 2023-2024 school calendars during its Feb. 8 meeting.

The district's press release said the decision to include the day before the election on the list of days off for students "is designed to reduce the number of student absences on that day in 2021."

Another feature of the new calendars, which is celebrated in the district, is the halving of days. The last day of each semester will be only a half day of school for Tomball ISD students.

TOMBALL – In the recent remarketing of the district's unlimited tax rate bonds, Series 2014B-2, Tomball ISD performed very well, earning an interest rate of 0.26%, recording more than $2.657 million in interest. the next three years.

Tomball ISD revived several aggressive bids throughout the day, during the one-hour open period. The new 0.26% interest rate does not affect the original structure of the Series 2014B-2 bonds, including the final maturity date and savings of 2.657 million, which equates to an average annual savings of approximately $885,906 for fiscal years 2021-2022 through 2023. – 2024 year.

I have the unique position of nearly 300 school counselors, 19 social workers, four mental health intervention counselors, and one substance use counselor. I will use my influence to continue to support this fantastic association.

Cy-Fair ISD had 18 wrestlers medal at the 19th CFISD Invitational Jan. 7-8, including two individual championships.

The Cypress Ranch High School girls earned the highest ranking by a CFISD school, while the Cy Ranch boys earned the highest ranking of any CFISD team in the boys tournament.

Students and staff at a California high school held a Bears of the Blue Road, collecting new and used stuffed animals for the CFISD Police Department and other police departments.

According to the press release of the district, 160 stuffed animals were collected and given to children in need.

The trip was planned by Kala and paraprofessional class Kelsey Jackson and secretary Dolores Freyler as an opportunity for students to help others. The campaign started on January 5 and ended on January 13.
