West Ada School Calendar 2023-2024 – The Houston Independent School District Board of Education has approved a proposed 2022-2023 school calendar that would add a new spring break in April and move the last day of the first semester before winter break.
The calendar includes one week of Thanksgiving break, two weeks of winter break, and one week of spring break. Students and staff are absent on Labor Day, MLK Day, Chavez-Huerta Day and Memorial Day. HISD has two fall breaks on October 5th and two spring breaks on April 7th and April 21st.
West Ada School Calendar 2023-2024
Trustees accepted a grant from the Texas Department of Education to support after-school programs. $882,500 from Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief (ESSER) III funds will be used to expand student learning after COVID-19. The fund provides support in three areas: personnel for post-secondary education, technical support for post-secondary planning and implementation, and higher education in after-school programs.
