Sfsu Spring 2023 Academic Calendar – School Scholarship: The purpose and goal of establishing this award (including establishing a summer internship) is to promote diversity in public service and support students from different socioeconomic backgrounds in their education. In addition, this scholarship is intended to support students who are looking for summer civic learning opportunities and can use this award for educational expenses.
1) Applicants are asked to express their intention to apply for the Holmes Internship Program in San Francisco through a statement of one page or more and submit a summary.

2) Applicants are asked to demonstrate the impact of the award on their personal, educational and/or professional goals through a 1-2 paragraph statement.
Application Procedure, Dates & Cost
The Latinos in Technology Scholarship was established by the Silicon Valley Hispanic Foundation, a public foundation dedicated to developing community philanthropy and engaging individuals to participate in educational achievement and leadership development for a thriving Latino community in Silicon Valley. This program will help 100 Latino students graduate from college. In addition, scholarship recipients will be considered for summer internships supported by business investors. By implementing this project in Silicon Valley, HFSV can directly address the local education gap among Latinos and begin to close the technology gap.

The California State University Louis Stokes Alliance for Minority Participation (CSU-LSAMP) is a CSU-wide academic assistance program supported by funds from the National Science Foundation and the CSU Chancellor's Office. As a preparatory program, LSAMP's goals at SFSU are to: 1) increase the number of students who graduate with science, technology, and mathematics (STEM) degrees to people who face or have faced social, educational, or economic challenges. careers in STEM and 2) provide resources to encourage students to enter STEM PhD programs. In SFSU's LSAMP program, we use several strategies to achieve this goal, including:
Events And Workshops
Research Grant*: LSAMP residents conducting research with an SFSU STEM faculty member may receive a stipend to assist with research activities and attend scientific conferences.

Advanced Study*: LSAMP participants can also take part in a range of courses aimed at developing skills that will better prepare you for a career in research. Workshops focus on topics such as communicating your science to a variety of people, developing presentation skills, learning to read scientific literature – all skills needed to be a successful scientist. Students of partner universities may receive tuition fees depending on the terms and conditions of the individual contract.

Tuition fees, mandatory/variable fees and discretionary fees will be waived after the "full refund due date" calculated on the relevant dates. Full payment of tuition and fees must be received by the due date and deadline listed in the Academic Calendar.
In the case of a third party, the party responsible for the payments will send a Bill Proposal to cgeadmin@sfsu.edu. SF State will send documents to a third party after the billing date. All tuition and fees will be visible in the student center until payment is made.

Although enrollment for SF State Extended Learning is not considered, DS-2019 is issued for J-1 student status when students are accepted into a full-time program at SF State Extended Learning and a visa is required to enter the country. Students entering the United States on a J-1 visa must maintain full student status while enrolled in an approved program at SF State Extended Learning.

The Study Abroad and Home School International Office must select your students using a selection form. Once the nomination form has been received, reviewed and approved, we will email the nomination form to the student and copy it to the home school.

Submit copies of college transcripts with grade point average (GPA). If you have not attended college, submit a high school/high school transcript. If the document is not in English, send a copy in the original language and a certified English translation. Transcripts are used to aid in teaching and course planning for undergraduate applicants. Students applying for graduate courses must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Qualifications: TOEFL iBT 61, IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Numbers must be less than 2 years old.

Students from some countries may be exempt from the English language requirement. See the English Language Recommendation for details.
