Hostos Calendar 2023 – The CTL Advisory Board is a faculty-led inter-faculty committee chaired by the Faculty and Curriculum Development Committee and aims to meet the professional needs of the faculty across disciplines. This committee's priority is to encourage faculty to review and implement innovative educational methods that address basic and advanced student needs in order to increase overall retention and graduation rates. The committee models innovation through non-traditional programming and inspires faculty to develop new curriculum that sustains students' learning environments throughout their academic careers. The council exists to renew and revitalize all faculty, including adjuncts, and help them excel professionally.
Carlos Guevara holds BS and MS degrees in Computer Science from CUNY and NYU Poly, and is currently pursuing a PhD in Instructional Technology at Teachers College, Columbia University. With over 15 years of experience in higher education, Carlos currently serves as Director of the Office of Educational Technology and Co-Director of the Center for Learning and Teaching at Hostos Community College at CUNY. Carlos currently serves as co-chair of the CUNY Centers for Education and Learning Advisory Board. Carlos is also the president of the HEO organization in Hostos and the president and founder of the Ecuadorian Youth Organization and the Ecuadorian Scholars Foundation.

Cynthia Jones received a Master of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction from Teachers College, Columbia University (1976); She was one of ten teachers accepted into Teacher Core, a competency program based on Marsha Weil's teaching model. Jones earned a BA in Early Childhood-Elementary Education from Adelphi University (1975). Cynthia Jones began her career at Hostos Community College in 1977 as an English Department Assistant teaching elementary, intermediate, and advanced ESL courses. He became a full-time faculty member in 1981 and taught a variety of English courses: Developmental Reading, Fundamentals of English, Expository Writing, Literature and Composition, and Black American Literature. She especially likes development courses and English electives. On November 20, 2014, Mr. Udall of Colorado announced the winners of the US Professorship Awards and entered their names into the Congressional Record. Cynthia Jones was named the 2014 Carnegie Endowment for the Advancement of Teaching New York Professor of the Year. In June 2015, she was one of The Bronx Times' 25 Most Influential Women of the Year. Cynthia calls herself "Mistress of the Hostos" and accepts this name with pride and passion.

Luz Rivera received a B.S. degree in computer information systems from Lehman College and an associate degree from Hostess Community College/CUNY. He joined CTL in 2014. Before coming to the center, he worked as a university laboratory technician at the Department of Education. It supports all initiatives and activities of the Center and participates in special projects to increase the effectiveness of the Center. Committee Member: CTL and General Education Advisory Board.

Sanjay Arya is an Assistant Professor of Radiologic Technology in the Department of Allied Health at Hostos Community College. Prior to that, he was involved in classroom teaching and clinical education at Bronx Community College. He has many years of teaching experience at India's most prestigious national fashion school, National Institute of Fashion Technology, which is affiliated to many leading fashion schools including Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT), New York. Master of Science in Cell Biology from University of Delhi, India. He is a certified radiologic technologist with certification in diagnostic radiology and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). In addition, he is a Magnetic Resonance Safety Officer (MRSO) certified by the American Board of Magnetic Resonance Safety (ABMRS).
His past experience includes working in various middle and senior management positions in the consumer goods industry, where he was responsible for improving business performance and operational efficiency by discovering new opportunities and developing partnerships.

Professor Arya brings with him a wealth of experience and expertise across cultures and helps students realize their potential in academic and professional growth.
Lauren Wolf is an Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Hostos. He received his Ph.D. In 2013, at the University at Albany, he studied the absence of eigenvalues in the critical spectrum of Toeplitz operators. He loves teaching and covers every aspect as six research students study each term. His undergraduate research integrates mathematics and social justice. He has been in medium and maximum security prisons for seven years and has been a teacher for eighteen years. Professor Wolf is the advisor to two student clubs, Reimagining Mathematics and Justice. The clubs organize several events each semester and students are actively involved.

Sylvia Reyes oversees all Title V initiatives, including student research with faculty, supplemental instruction in introductory courses, capstone assignments, and small group tutorials. Previously, he worked as the deputy director of the Hostos educational training center. She earned a Masters in Social Work from Yeshiva University and a BA in Psychology from Hunter College. Prior to joining Hostos, she served as a program coordinator and taught development studies courses and a new student workshop at LaGuardia Community College.
Saint John's School
Stacey J. Cooper holds a PhD in developmental psychology from the CUNY Graduate Center and is an assistant professor of psychology in the Department of Behavioral and Social Sciences at Hostos Community College. Dr. Cooper has taught at the college since 2009. In 2014, he started a research project on ethnic minority immigrant students at Hostos. In 2016, he created a shared faculty resource used by the department's psychology faculty. Her teaching and research interests include identity learning, racial identity, immigration, digital learning, and higher education.
After serving as the Public Services and User Experience Librarian at Yeshiva University since 2012, I am excited to take on the position of Adjunct Professor and Guide/Instructor at Hostos Community College Library. My research interests include the student library experience. , both face-to-face and virtual, is based on the belief that the multiple dimensions of this experience can have a powerful impact on student learning and achievement. I received my master's degree in library science from St. John's University and an MA and PhD in Theater History/Criticism from the University of Texas at Austin.
Nicole Beth Wallenbrock, PhD is very proud to be Assistant Professor of French at Hostos Community College. He has been teaching French since 2002 and has also taught several film courses. He has taught at 8 CUNY campuses, the University of Tennessee Knoxville, and Syracuse University. Its inclusive classes are student-centered and create classroom communities. Wallenbrock wrote
