Calhoun Community College Calendar 2023 – Provide each student with a pair of Red Wing Loggermax boots, a helmet, gloves, and two sets of eye protection. We also give each student a tool bag. The borrower's tool bag contains all the items needed to successfully complete the program. After graduation, you can buy your own equipment, but many companies offer belts, tools and related equipment after hiring our graduates.
An online community college pre-worker apprenticeship course provides the essential skills and qualifications sought by utility companies and contractors in North Central Alabama. We govern an advisory board that determines the content, duration and cost of the program. Our graduates benefit from a 90% or better field placement rate.

Calhoun Community College Campus Tours
Our course is limited to 7 weeks as recommended by our advisory board. All our graduates, and those of any other lineman school, are pre-apprentice linemen who are required to enter a registered apprentice program with their employer. No student of any lineman course has ever graduated as a full lineman. That degree takes years to earn for anyone from any school working at any company.
Our course meets all the requirements for successful employment in the online worker field at a fraction of the cost and half the time of related schools.

Calhoun Community College And Morgan County Economic Development Association (eda) Team Up To Host "teachers On Tour"
The forty-hour Pre-Apprentice Lineman School CDL training and testing program is available to students with a learner's permit who wish to obtain a Class A or B license who are enrolled in a college Pre-Apprentice Lineman School course community
Note: The DOT physical, drug screening, and motor vehicle report (MVR) must be dated within 30 days of the first scheduled day of class. In the event that an online student has completed a DOT physical and previously received a medical card, ensure that the expiration date is valid.
The training includes practical instruction on pre-trip inspections, support exercises and road tests. A lineman student must submit a copy of the required documentation below on the first day of the lineman course.
Calhoun City Warns For Fraudulent Checks
If an online student has an out-of-state student permit, they can attend training and take a skills test at a community college.
A student must obtain a trade learner's permit from their home state and their home state must use CSTIMS or ROOSTER LITE to obtain CDL proficiency test results. After a successful test, the student must return to their home state to obtain a CDL license.
A full refund may be obtained by making a written request to the Community College Workforce Solutions Assistant, Jillian Christensen, no later than 30 days prior to the program start date. No refunds available 30 days prior to program start date.

Community College and Morgan County Economic Development Association (EDA) Team Up to Host "Teachers on Tour" August 1, 2018
On August 2, 2018, the community college will welcome 1,000 local teachers to its Decatur campus to participate in a Teachers on Tour event. Tours begin at 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 and 12:30 – 14:00 at the Aeronautical Training Center (ATC).
Match Day 2022
The Technology Department, in partnership with the Morgan County Economic Development Association (EDA), offers tours of the college's technology department to teachers in Decatur City, Hartselle City and Morgan County schools. According to Dean of Technology John Holley, "Participants will be divided into two groups of 500. Each group will visit different classrooms such as welding, machine tool technology, industrial management, robotics, process technology, design configuration and visit manufacturing industries local Representatives from each region will present their program.Give a brief overview and answer any questions that tour participants may have.
